VOLTAGE, Wash. – A tragic accident on a two-lane highway in central Washington state resulted in the deaths of four individuals and left seven others injured. The incident occurred when a Toyota Camry attempted to pass another vehicle and collided head-on with a Northwestern Stage Lines charter bus traveling on Highway 28 east of Wenatchee.
Among the victims were a 66-year-old bus driver from Spokane, a 17-year-old female driver, and a 17-year-old male passenger from East Wenatchee. Additionally, a bus passenger succumbed to injuries at a local hospital. The Washington State Patrol reported that the crash also injured seven individuals, ranging from 24 to 71 years old, who were transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
According to Jacob Price, the owner of the Spokane-based bus company, the tragic accident occurred during a routine route from Seattle to Spokane. Approximately 20 passengers were onboard the bus at the time of the collision. Price noted that the crash was a result of a driver attempting to pass at a high speed, emphasizing the company’s cooperation with authorities to gain a better understanding of the circumstances.
