Greenock, Scotland – A man was hospitalized with severe facial injuries after being attacked by two men in Inverclyde. The 51-year-old victim was violently assaulted on Lansbury Street in Greenock on Friday, May 31st, around 1:50 pm.
The attackers, described by authorities, included a heavy-set, balding man in his forties to fifties wearing a green shirt and blue jeans, and a man with brown hair and a full beard donning a gray top with a unique dark banner across the shoulders and gray tracksuit bottoms. The victim was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment of his injuries sustained from the weapon used in the assault.
Detective Constable Laura Sokolov urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist in locating and apprehending the responsible individuals. Police are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area at the time of the attack, with a white Vauxhall van believed to have been present during the incident.
Authorities are asking those with private CCTV or dash-cam footage capturing the surrounding area around the time of the assault to share any potentially valuable information with the police.
