Las Vegas, Nevada — Authorities arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with an explosion linked to an improvised explosive device that occurred near the Las Vegas Strip. The incident, which damaged a local business, took place early Thursday morning, prompting a swift police response.
John Navarro was apprehended on Friday and is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center. He faces a slew of charges resulting from the incident that took place on November 13.
According to police, the explosion occurred shortly after 2 a.m. when two men dressed in black approached Piero’s Italian Cuisine. One of the suspects reportedly placed an object identified as an improvised explosive device near the restaurant and ignited a fuse before both men made a hasty retreat.
