Khuzdar, Pakistan – An explosion in a market in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Wednesday resulted in four fatalities and five injuries, officials reported. The incident involved an improvised explosive device that was attached to a motorbike parked in the Naal Bazaar of Khuzdar, according to police sources. Naal police Station House Officer (SHO) Bahawal Khan Pindrani confirmed the casualties in a media briefing, noting that one of the injured individuals was in serious condition.
Senior Superintendent of Police Javed Zehri of Khuzdar mentioned that several vehicles were destroyed by the blast. Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemned the explosion, stating that orders were given to ensure the injured receive top-notch medical treatment. “Terrorism in all its forms will be eliminated,” Bugti affirmed. “Those who seek to disrupt peace will not succeed, and those responsible for this incident will face justice.”
Balochistan has faced violence for over two decades, with recent incidents including a car bomb explosion on January 26 that resulted in two deaths and seven injuries near a passenger bus traveling from Khuzdar to Rawalpindi.
