MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — A jury has once again found Gregory Jones guilty for his role in the 2018 execution-style murders of two individuals in Montgomery County, according to statements made by prosecution officials.
Jones, 32, was convicted on Friday for the deaths of Ashley Dickinson, 34, and Joshua Frazier, 29, who were discovered shot in a parked vehicle on February 15, 2018, in Burtonsville. The two had been involved in a drug transaction that investigators believe turned lethal. Their bodies were located in a white Audi SUV with its engine still running, prompting alarm when a passerby noted the scene.
The case against Jones is not new; he was previously convicted in 2021 and handed two life sentences without the possibility of parole. However, that verdict was overturned upon appeal, necessitating this retrial. Prosecutors have indicated that he now faces the same potential sentence, along with an additional 40 years behind bars.
Authorities reported that Frazier had been set to collect $900 during a meeting with Dickinson, which is believed to have been a critical point in the sequence of events that led to their deaths. Investigators revealed that a second assailant was also involved in the nightclub shooting, which allowed law enforcement to link the two incidents. Forensic analysis showed that a shell casing recovered from the nightclub matched a casing found at the scene of Dickinson and Frazier’s murders, indicating that both crimes were committed using the same weapon.
