BRONX, NY – A deadly shooting has rocked the Bronx, leaving one dead and four injured in what police suspect could be a gang-related attack.
The violence erupted around 7:30 p.m. outside a deli on Allerton Avenue. Shots fired from a car struck five men, leading to a swift response by emergency services who transported the victims to Jacobi Medical Center.
Injuries included a gunshot wound to the foot for a 27-year-old, a leg graze for another, and arm injuries for two others, aged 21 and 25. They remain stable, but a 25-year-old man died from multiple gunshot wounds.
The suspects’ vehicle was later found crashed, with police recovering three guns and detaining several suspects. A 24-year-old man involved in the crash is in critical condition.
Despite this incident, the 49th Precinct has seen a 58% reduction in shootings this year. However, the community is urged to remain cautious and assist the police in their ongoing investigation.
The NYPD calls for any witnesses or individuals with information to help bring those responsible to justice.
