SALT LAKE CITY — A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder and sexual assault following a tragic accident on Interstate 15 that claimed the lives of two teenagers. The incident occurred in the early hours of November 29 when Jose Angel Torres Jimenez allegedly drove the wrong way on the highway.
Court documents indicate that Jimenez was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes near 2100 South when he collided head-on with a Nissan Rogue, which subsequently caught fire. The crash resulted in the instant deaths of 17-year-old Anneka Wilson and 18-year-old Leo Shepherd.
In the aftermath of the collision, Jimenez was charged with two counts of murder and one count of forcible sexual abuse.
