Charlotte Woman’s Christmas Night Death: Third Suspect Charged in Homicide Case

Charlotte, North Carolina – Authorities have made a third arrest in connection with the tragic death of Kennedi Aniyah Flora Jones, a 19-year-old woman who was found injured in a car that had crashed down an embankment near Shamrock Drive on Christmas night. Sadly, Jones succumbed to her injuries after being rushed to a local hospital.

The initial arrest in the case took place on December 31, with 21-year-old Dreshon Moreno facing charges of murder and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. A week later, on January 7, 2025, 24-year-old James Ashley Mason was also charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The latest suspect to be apprehended is 18-year-old Zion Lamont Jennings, who was arrested in Winston Salem on Tuesday, January 28. He now faces charges of murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon in relation to Jones’ tragic death.
