Portland, Oregon – Newly released information sheds light on the timeline of events surrounding the deaths of three missing women in the Jesse Lee Calhoun murder case. Calhoun, accused of the murders, faces charges related to the killings of 24-year-old Charity Lynn Perry, 32-year-old JoAnna Speaks, and 31-year-old Bridget LeAnne Webster from the Portland area.
The indictment indicates specific dates for each victim’s death and the subsequent disposal of their bodies. Calhoun is also facing charges of abusing the corpses of the three women. Prosecutors relied on testimony from 16 witnesses, including detectives, medical examiners, and forensic scientists, as presented to a grand jury.
According to the indictment, Calhoun allegedly killed Perry on March 8, 2023. Perry’s body was discovered nearly seven weeks later, on April 24, near Ainsworth State Park. Ten days after Perry’s murder, Speaks was also killed on March 18, 2023. Her body was found three weeks later on April 8 at an abandoned property in Ridgefield.
Police investigations revealed that Speaks was killed in Portland before her body was moved to another location. An autopsy conducted on April 10, 2023, confirmed that Speaks died due to blunt force trauma to her head. Among the three victims, details of Speaks’ cause of death are the only ones made public so far.
Calhoun is accused of killing Webster on April 26, with her body being discovered four days later on April 30 near Mill Creek in Polk County. Multnomah County prosecutors mentioned that they are investigating the deaths of two other women, Kristen Smith and Ashley Real, possibly linked to Calhoun.
Authorities anticipate transporting Calhoun to Multnomah County for arraignment on the charges, although a specific date has not yet been set. The ongoing investigation into these tragic events continues to uncover more details surrounding the suspected murders.
