Boy Fatally Shot in Langley Park: Suspects Arrested for the Murder

LANGLEY PARK, Maryland – Two men have been arrested in connection to the tragic killing of a 2-year-old boy who was shot while being pushed in a stroller by his mother, according to Prince George’s County police.

The shooting occurred on Thursday evening in the 1400 block of Kanawah Street, leaving the young mother and child suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to Children’s National Hospital, the 2-year-old boy was pronounced dead, while his mother is expected to survive her injuries.

Law enforcement officials have identified the suspects as 33-year-old Israel Fuentes Jr. and 28-year-old Johnny Alejandro Turcios, both of Lewisdale. Both men are facing charges of first-degree murder and related charges.

Police believe that the suspects were with other men in a stolen car that had been carjacked just a day prior to the shooting. The men were involved in an exchange of gunfire, during which the young boy and his mother were struck.
