Attempted Murder Charge Filed Against Wall Township Man After Brutal Attack

Wall Township, New Jersey – A Wall Township man is facing charges of Attempted Murder after a violent attack on his girlfriend in an apartment complex parking lot, as announced by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago.

Alex J. Williams, 24, has been charged with Attempted Murder in the first degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the second degree, and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (machete) in the third degree. The charges stem from an incident on May 23, 2024, where Williams allegedly assaulted the victim with a machete in the presence of her child at the Glen Oaks Apartment Complex in Wall Township.

The victim sustained severe injuries from the attack and was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. Williams was apprehended without resistance and is currently detained at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a hearing.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau, along with the Wall Township Police Department, conducted an investigation that led to Williams’s arrest. Assistant Prosecutor Joseph Cummings is overseeing the case, scheduled for a hearing on May 29, 2024.

Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward as the investigation continues. The well-being of the victim and her child remains a priority as justice is sought for the violent act committed in Wall Township.
