GLASGOW, Scotland — A man has been convicted of attempted murder following a brutal assault aboard a ScotRail train, where he attacked two fellow passengers with a broken bottle. Thomas Craig, 48, from East Renfrewshire, was found guilty after a trial at the High Court in Glasgow. The court heard that Craig, who was intoxicated at the time, instigated the attack over what was said to be a minor disagreement with other passengers. Witnesses recounted a scene of chaos as Craig unleashed his fury just minutes after engaging with fellow riders.
The prosecution detailed how Craig first struck one passenger twice on the head with the bottle before pursuing him through the train carriage. When another passenger attempted to intervene, Craig turned on him as well, delivering multiple punches before stabbing him near the chest with the broken glass.
