Denver, Colorado – Kevin Bui, one of three teenagers involved in a tragic arson case that resulted in the death of a Senegalese family of five, pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder. In a plea agreement, Bui accepted responsibility for the fire that claimed the lives of Djibril Diol, his wife Adja, their 2-year-old daughter, Hassan Diol, and her infant daughter Hawa Beye. This devastating incident took place in August 2020 in Denver’s Green Valley Ranch neighborhood.
Bui, along with two other teenagers, set the house on fire, resulting in the tragic loss of lives. The motivation behind the arson was revealed by Bui during police interviews, stating that he targeted the specific house after being robbed of his phone in City Park. Using an app to track his phone to the Truckee Street address, Bui mistakenly believed that the residents had ties to the theft.
