Bellefontaine, Ohio – A domestic dispute in Bellefontaine early Sunday morning resulted in the arrest of 36-year-old Jarvis Magee of Columbus. Police responded to a residence on Township Road 179 following a report of a violent altercation between Magee and the victim. When officers arrived, they found the victim distressed, revealing that Magee had left the scene in a black Audi.
Magee was located by Logan County Sheriff’s Deputies shortly after and was taken into custody. He claimed he had gone to the victim’s home to see his children but couldn’t reach the victim, so he entered the house and later got into a physical altercation with the victim. Magee alleged that the victim initiated the attack, displaying a scratch on his face and a bleeding lip to officers as evidence.
However, the victim provided authorities with video footage captured by a Ring camera, which showed Magee forcibly entering the home, choking the victim, dragging her down the stairs, and throwing her onto a couch. As a result, Magee was arrested and booked into the Logan County Jail, facing charges of burglary and domestic violence. It was revealed that Magee had prior convictions, including charges related to domestic violence and firearms offenses.
