Brunswick, Georgia – In a tragic incident that rocked the community, a 24-year-old man, Kevin Bernard Pinkney Jr. was arrested in connection with the double murder of two teenagers, Xavier Buggs and Eric Stanley, last month. The teens were found shot in the 3200 block of Brailsford Avenue in Brunswick on February 17, 2025, and tragically succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
Pinkney is now facing multiple charges, including two counts of murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. In a separate incident on January 24, a 15-year-old was also shot and killed at an apartment complex in Brunswick. The victim, identified as Jerrod “Cheesy” Foster, was remembered fondly by his loved ones on what would have been his 16th birthday. Derrick Heidt, 22, is currently facing charges in connection with Foster’s tragic death.
Community leaders in Brunswick recently held a discussion to address the rising issue of youth violence following the spate of teen deaths in the area.
