Los Angeles, California – Actor Johnny Wactor of “General Hospital” was tragically shot and killed in downtown Los Angeles over the weekend in a confrontation with catalytic converter thieves, as reported by the LAPD.
Wactor, aged 37, had just finished his shift as a bartender before encountering the thieves attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his car. The thieves had the vehicle raised on a floor jack when Wactor approached them, leading to the fatal shooting without provocation.
Catalytic converters are sought after by thieves for the precious metals they contain, which can be resold for profit. In this case, the thieves were described as wearing dark clothing and fleeing the scene in a dark sedan after the shooting.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, Wactor succumbed to his injuries. The incident has left his friends, family, and colleagues in mourning for the loss of the talented actor, who appeared on numerous episodes of “General Hospital” and other popular shows.
